Beamforming on Tomato

I'm picking up a Linksys EA6500v2 which is arriving in a few days, and want to use DD-WRT or Tomato on it (have used both in the past and I slightly prefer Tomato). I'm particularly interested in beamforming, which my current router does not support, but wanted to make sure this is something supported by Tomato going in.

I know there are toggleable options in DD-WRT for both explicit and implicit beamforming, but from what I understand this is just "always-on" in Tomato - is this correct?...

Error log with IPv6

I'm struggling getting IPv6 to work with Time Warner on my Asus RT-n66u running Toastman 0507.2 VLAN VPN. If I plug a laptop directly into the cable modem, I get an IPv6 address (I think it's a /128). But the router never gets any IPv6 connectivity.

I have it set to DHCPv6 with 64 bit prefix delegation, and to accept RA from WAN. I also have the boxes checked to announce IPv6 on the LAN with DHCP and SLAAC. I also unchecked the box to fix Comcast's DSCP bug, which didn't seem to have an...

RT-N12 D1 and Shibby

I've got Shibby 123 on my mother in law's new RT-N12 D1. It seems to work well, though the Status - Overview page lists the router model as RT-N12 B1. Also, the Wifi LED doesn't turn on. Are there other issues, or is these the only (very minor) things?

Other than that, things seem to be working just fine.

Thanks, Shibby!

Route only specific ports through VPN (openvpn)

Hi,

Tomato and OpenVPN are working perfectly, all traffic is encrypted.

Now, is there any way to get only connections to ports 80 and 443 to go through OpenVPN, while all others - p2p and stuff go unencrypted?

I tried playing with iptables, but unfortunately, none of the examples I found on the internet worked.
Did anyone manage to get this working?

Slow Connection between WAN and LAN - Tomato Shibby

Hi,

I have a Linksys/Cisco WRT320N with Tomato (Shibby) which has 1xWAN Ports and 4xLAN Ports. Every port is specified as a Gbit-Port, but i noticed slow speeds if the connections goes out on the WAN-Interface.
Therefore i did some testing with iperf, and realy: A Connection between a Computer in WAN and LAN has a maximum bandwith of ~110Mbit/s. If i turn on QoS it goes down to 30Mbit/s.
Interesting fact: If i test a connection which just goes through the LAN-Switch of the Router the...

Hi,

I just purchased a NETGEAR R7000 and I plan on installing Shibby(I had DD-WRT on a ASUS RT-N16). I have watched the YouTube guide and I have downloaded the appropriate Initial and AIO files to flash, but those files are 118 and the newest version is 132.

If I were to flash the 118 Initial and then AIO, can I upgrade straight to 132 from the GUI or do I have to update incrementally?

Hello All,

I have been trying to get a VPN service on my router but after testing four options I get the same results were using the windows app they provide gives good upload and download speeds but when configured on a router with shibby, the speeds are terrible.

The only difference I see when comparing the logs between the router and the PC app is the version of OpenVPN and OpenSSL version, but the router is newer.

It seems like the router is at fault here but the cpu, memory, etc....

Hello all,

wondering if anyone successfully managed to connect their USB printer to the R7000 (with tomato) and define it and print with it.

I have tried several guides I found online but nothing seems to work.

what I do is look for a printer on a TCP/IP (my router's IP) and then choose the drivers for it. installation seems to be successful but nothing prints.
Of course I have enabled "USB printer support" in Tomato.

any help, tips or steps will be appreciated.

thanks.

So my new Linksys EA6500v2 arrived today, and the first thing I tried to do was install Shibby's Tomato on it.

I logged in to the stock GUI, selected as a firmware upgrade "tomato-EA6500v2-ARM--132-AIO-64K.trx" and hit Upgrade. It seemed to go smoothly, and went to reboot. After it came back up I found couldn't access the GUI using 192.168.1.1. Kept getting "connection refused" in any browser.

Ok... so I rebooted both my PC and the router. The router rebooted, stayed up (solid Linksys...

Hello Experts,

i like to install Tomato by Shibby (use tomato-K26USB-1.28.RT-N5x-MIPSR2-132-AIO-64K.zip) on my Asus RT-N66U.
Think this is a great Firmware, i have also used this on my WRT54G for many years :)

But i have a question.
Does Tomato by Shibby use all three antennas?
If i look at the Advances / Wireless menu i see at Receive Antenna and Transmit Antenna only AUTO / A / B, so i think there is only use two antennas?
Or does Tomato by Shibby also use all three antennes like stock...

Hi,

I just wanted to tell you that i finished Tomato-ARM7 for this router. Why ARM7? Because this Tomato is using Broadcom SDK7 and include Wireless Driver 7.14.43.40 (r527781).

This is also first Tomato with new DHD wireless driver.

I just upgraded my connection to 200/20 and I can't get above about 100MB/s on the WAN -> LAN. I'm running I've disabled QOS, tried enabling BCM_NAT, and a few other things. No dice. The WAN port shows 100M Full. I'm not sure what it should be showing in this case, but that could indicate something. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Per my other thread I did eventually manage to get AdvancedTomato (tomato-EA6500v2-AT-ARM-3.0-132-AIO-64K.trx) onto my new Linksys EA6500v2. Unfortunately, I cannot make any network changes at all. Even trying to do something as innocuous as changing my WiFi password pops up an error message stating: "Cannot proceed: two or more LAN bridges have conflicting IP addresses or overlapping subnets". Again, I have made zero configuration changes other than installing AT and accessing its GUI for...
