EA6900 v1.1 USB 3.0 Speed

From several reviews on the web, it seems that the original EA6900 (v1.0) was much slower in USB 3.0 than the R7000 and the 68P. I was not able to find any information about v1.1 (the one with the physical power switch) and whether they fixed USB 3.0 in it or not.

If anybody has v1.1 of this router, what speeds are you getting in USB 3.0 mode please.

Thank you.

AT&T Velocity portable hotspot

Install Shibby v132 onto the WNR3500U and change the WAN from DHCP to 4G/LTE. Plug the AT&T Velocity into the usb port of the router and BAM, usable internet access. Not one special setting needed to make this work, except to make sure both the WNR and the Velocity are not using the same subnet. The...

2. if I can get double international bandwidth, do I need another router (such as ROS) or I can use tomato to merge them?

Problem with Shibby and MiniDLNA

I have shibby right now, from DD-wrt. Both have the latest version of DLNA. In looking into it, DD-wrt version actually polls information from mp4 movies and saves the JPG into a separate folder, allowing them to show on tv when browsing. Shibby does not pull this info (Movie poster). I believe it is in the MP4 itself, and DD-wrt has a "patch" that allows it to work (I read this somewhere but can't find the post anymore). Is there anyway to get this to work with Shibbys miniDLNA server...

EA6700 - no AC option

Hello,

I am trying the latest version of Tomato FW (EA6700-AT-ARM-3.0-132-AIO-64K.trx) and I can´t get to work AC at 5GHz. There is no such option in the menu.

I am coming from DD-WRT, where AC worked fine with great speeds near the router (866Mbps). Router says that data rate at 5GHz is 600Mbps, but my computer says it is only 400Mbps, just near the router. My wifi card is Intel AC7260.

What can I do to get it work? Maybe downgrade to v131? It is my first experience with Tomato. I like...

Access Restrictions - block internet for ip range / subnet

Tried searching but couldn't find the info, I've setup multiple virtual SSIDs assigned to different subnets, and I would like to block internet access on certain days, during certain times for the particular subnet or ip range. This seems simple enough to do for an individual ip or mac addresses but I don't see how to apply to a range or subnet.

Could someone help? Thanks

Tomato build for BCM5356A (RT-N10)

Hello guys,

I had a bricked Netgear WGR614v10 and somebody helped me to mod it into an RT-N10, with 32M Ram and 8M flash. Then I found that it can flash tomato firmware, but only very old builds support this model with a BCM5356A chip.

So I tried to integrate some nice features (such as IPTraffic, Online theme) into the old build, and finally managed to get it work:)

If you have an RT-N10 or modded WGR614v10 and are happy to risk it, here's the firmware link for you:...

SSID broadcast option is not behaving

I am running Shibby v132 on an Asus RT-N12 B1. This is a dedicated router installed in the garage to only connect devices that controls remote garage door operation.
So, I set the SSID not to broadcast but it still does. I have unchecked the "broadcast" box and saved it, also rebooted the router but it still broadcasts. I can see the SSID in my phone and laptop.

Any advice or trick?

tomato build environment

It's been a while now since I've made my own custom build of tomato. Typically I would use Toastman's source code tree and make a few changes. I posted some instructions back in 2012 on how to successfully build Toastman's source code tree. I suggested using ubuntu 11.04 virtual machine as the build environment. I'm attaching my old build instructions.

Hi all,
Love tomato. I want to set a specific DNS for a specific range of IP addresses. All other IP's should go to the default DNS. Is this the way I would do it? In Advanced -> DNS/DHCP -> DNSMASQ options

Code:
dhcp-range=set:red,192.168.0.5,192.168.0.10
dhcp-option=tag:red,6,208.122.23.22
dhcp-option=tag:red,6,208.122.23.23
Thank you!

USB HDD and spindown... experienced users please comment

Is anyone using their tomato together with a USB connected HDD in an external enclosure? I see under "USB and NAS>USB Support" that there's a spindown option for the HDD so I'm wondering how effective this works. When a client browses to the NAS's share, does the drive spin up? What is the spindown idle time and can it be adjusted? Thanks!

Why can't QoS be offloaded to the 2nd core in ARM routers?

$

R7000 can't do more than ~150Mbit /w QoS enabled because it's maxing out 1 of the cores while the other one is almost idle. Is it possible to force the QoS routines on to the second core?

Thanks
