New Tomato firmware for D-Link DIR-865L AC1750 router

After having problems (mainly missing 5GHZ and no USB power) with the tomatoegg firmware that was posted in tomatousb.org previously, I have decided to port a new Tomato firmware to support Dlink DIR-865L based on Shibby's release 120.

It was tested that
1. both 2.4ghz and 5 ghz b,g,n,ac 20/40/80 bandwidth
2. USB port works for usb storage devices (other usb device not tested)
3. JFFS2 is working fine
4. OpenVPN

5Ghz speed is about the same as the original firmware but of course a lot more...

Tinc Mesh VPN

Info
Tinc automatically sets up a mesh VPN between multiple nodes in a network. Each daemon will communicate directly to every other daemon if possible. I find it very easy to setup, even if you only want to connect only two Nodes.

Add an iptables exception for communication between VLAN

Hey guys

I have 4 vlans setup right now, that works great. But I have one host that I want to be seen by the other vlans. After flailing around a while with tagging, I realized that the simplest way was best, and since tomato vlan is really just IP rules, I may as well just do that.

But, I've never used iptables before. I scrolled the output of -L and it was a long convoluted mess.
This is the idea of my setup:
VLAN 1 > "main" 192.168.10.1 LAN br0
VLAN 2 > WAN
VLAN 3 > LAN1 br1...

Did I break caching?

Hi there,

I am having some weird issues with my network today. I don't know if I broke caching or such. The GRC tool is showing some weird results for my test (I will attach a screen shot). I haven't done anything to dramatic to my configuration but wanted to post that to see if maybe I did something stupid.

In short, I have the stupids. Things are performing pretty terribly today for me. I have gone through all the standard troubleshooting stuff. I am at a loss of how to troubleshoot...

Belkin F9K1102: Tomato bring-up

The original first message of this thread, when tomato was not yet ported, can be found at the bottom of this post. Tomato is now operational on the F9K1102 (v1 and v3 only), so I've changed the first post to reflect this.

Tomato has been ported to the Belkin N600 DB Wireless N+ (F9K1102 v1 and v3 only). A screenshot is attached to this post. Unfortunately, stability has been an issue; frequent reboots have been reported by several users. This project is on hiatus as I have...

Shibby: IPv6 fe80 Default Gateway Not Accepted/Assigned

Hello,

I currently use Time Warner in Orange County. CA on an RT-68U, Shibby 1.28.

I couldn't get IPv6 to work right for the life of me. The router will acquire IPs (one /128 address and a /64 block) with DHCPv6 w/ Prefix Delegation, but no traffic would route out.

After a lot of troubleshooting (learned some about IPv6 on the way), I found that connecting my Apple directly to my cable modem worked with IPv6. Unlike Shibby, it was able to assign an IPv6 default gateway, which happens to...

DHCP not working on random base (WDS)

Hi,

I've two WRT54GL with Tomato Shibby installed (K26-1.28.RT-MIPSR1-128-Mini), both set-up as AP+WDS. The host acts as DHCP, also for devices that connect on the client.

Host:
- IP=192.168.1.1
- DHCP range=192.168.1.11-192.168.1.199
- Mode=Gateway
Client:
- 192.168.1.2
- DHCP=disabled
- Gateway & DNS=192.168.1.1
- Mode=Router

This setup works fine, but after about one week, the client is unable to assign IPs to devices that connect to it. Rebooting the client always...

How: Enable selective list of websites/ domains using Tomato that are ISP blocked via DNS?

There are a few websites like uploaded.net being blocked by the ISPs in India.

They are pretty much just DNS based blocks and I can ping their IPs, and can probably access the sites using non ISP DNS.

But the ISP DNS is the fastest, so I am wondering if I can create a BYPASS list that would allow Tomato router to use different non ISP DNS or Domain map to IP when any sites from this LIST is...

SNTPD

As it doesn't appear this subject has been addressed
here for about 7 years, I'll ask a few questions of
anyone who might know the answer;

1) Do any of the supported routers have a RT clock?
2) Does Tomato have SNTPD module?
3) If there is internal sntp support, can it be linked via USB to
a GPS device ( e.g. NMEA type protocol ) for time data?

Any input appreciated.

Here's an example how...

Checking "Use Internal Caching DNS Forwarder" activates the DNS forwarder and passes the IP of the router to the connected computers through DHCP instead of the ISP configured DNS servers.

Checking "Used Received DNS with Static DNS" lets you use the DHCP provided DNS servers with the extras added in the custom configuration box.

Plot CPU Usage (vs. time)

Hi,

I'm thinking about trying to add a plot for this to my local build (as a starting point at least), but before I do ... is anyone else already working on this? My thinking was to plot CPU usage (and RAM usage?) as a function of time, sort of like the bandwidth plots vs. time.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Tomato Client to DD-WRT Server via Wireless Ethernet Bridge

Hello,

I have a wired device that I need to make wireless. To do so, I am connecting the wired device to my dual-band (2.4ghz and 5 ghz) Linksys e2500 v1 router. This router runs Tomato v1.28. I only need this router to act as a wireless antenna (at 5ghz) for the wired device to connect to the main wireless network.

My primary router running the wireless network is running DD-WRT v24. I need to connect the tomato client router to the DD-WRT primary router.

I've spent many sleepless nights...

IPv6 and Comcast

Comcast is going to give its subscribers a 64-bit prefix when IPv6 comes online late Tuesday, June 5.

My question is this: Would I use Native IPv6 from ISP and tick "Accept RA from WAN" only? Or do both WAN and LAN boxes need to be ticked for Router Advertisements?

If "Native IPv6 from ISP" is not the choice I would use, would I use "DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation" instead or another one of the options above?...

AdvancedTomato (v2) - GUI Based on Shibby's mod

AdvancedTomato is GUI only based modification of Tomato Shibby mods. Its been adapted to newer web browser technologies and coding standards. It uses CSS3, HTML5 (some), Vector based Images (Best Quality) for compatibility with new Super HD displays & Retina, Ajax and so on.

New thread represents new GUI version 2 which is fully recoded without looking at size of the UI it self. This means routers with 8MB or less flash size are no longer supported!

R7000 - Tomato Build

Hi Guys,

So I've added Codel and fixed L7 QOS in this. Purely playing with it at the moment, it seems to be going well however; something like a hobby ;) These builds are limited to networking only, there's no Transmission or any other toys.

I had to revert the ipset changes, the makefile was omitted and there isn't much point in duplicated effort :)
