problems running a dedicated bit-torrent box (shibby) attached to main router (also shibby)

Anyone that has run bit-torrent client on their main router has probably had problems with network slowdowns especially when doing other services such as VPN and data encryption, so I decided to buy a separate router dedicated to serving media and running bit-torrent so that my main router can only do data encryption and VPN to lighten the load.
