Wired AP + Acess restriction

I currently have this setup

Modem->Router 1(Main)-->Powerline-->Router 2(AP)

Both routers using using the same shibbf f/w and are exact models
Im using the router 2 to extend my wireless network

However my powerline adapter gets real hot when many connections are going through it, usually due to people torrenting
