Hostnames and windows machines

Long story short hostnames on network with a Tomato router only work when using Linux systems...

-When trying to access "bugatti" (windows machine) via RDP or VNC from another Windows machine the connection fails when using the hostname. Using IP works fine. In same way ping fails to hostname but works with IP.
